My recent work, 'Playground Shadows', is a commentary on the disturbing reality of juvenile weapon possession. This piece was inspired by an alarming incident in Florida, where an 11-year old brought a loaded gun to school. The hidden object in the child's hand and the eerie setting is a direct reflection of society's unseen and often ignored horrors. The unexpectedly dark theme contrasts with the childhood innocence we usually associate with playgrounds. I aim to provoke thought on the necessity of prioritizing our children's safety over all else and the violence we expose them to, intentionally or not.
